Run Jenni, Run

{September 25, 2013}   09.25.2013 – Back Again

I am back from the dead… or more specifically, the Tumblr.

I figure that this could be a good place to keep up with a few more written posts, which I do not do as often on my Tumblr blog.  It just is too time-consuming to try to post words on Tumblr when every one else is just reblogging photos.

The quick notes are that I have joined Crossfit, and I am absolutely addicted.  I love it, and I cannot wait until I am able to make myself go every day.  I am currently nursing a cold, so I have taken a couple days off from classes.  I plan to be back in class tomorrow, barring my sickness getting worse.  I could probably survive today, but I would rather thrive in a class rather than barely get by, so I am taking a little more time to rest.  Once I get used to going to Crossfit on a normal basis, I look forward to adding running club back into the mix as well, which should get me into immaculate shape by the time the summer gets here.

Why would I need to be in good shape for summer?

Because I’m going to England!

That’s right… I am finally traveling outside of the United States, something I have been wanting to do ever since I was a kid.  And it’s not just any trip outside the United States.  I will be flying to England to see my boyfriend.  This girl has gotten herself into a long-distance relationship.  This will probably become another topic of conversation on this blog.  If it wasn’t for running and Crossfit, I would probably go insane.  I have so much to look forward to, but it all seems so far away.  I love that I am able to use exercise as a form of stress relief while I wait for the summer to arrive.

Since I’ve only done one workout this week, I don’t have much to tell there…so I will be signing off.

Later Days,

Sometimes I get bored and plan out my entire workout schedule through the end of the year… and that happened this morning.

Due to wedding dates, I have had to give up on a few races and change around a few plans.  It actually has not been as mentally difficult as I expected it to be and I am mostly glad that I realized I needed to change dates before I had paid for the races.  I still have somthing to do every month, but it’s definitely a change from the original.  My new race list still includes the Watermelon Series over the summer and the Aching Quad for my birthday, but I have cut down the October race from the Living Dead Challenge to just the Frakenfooter half marathon on October 27.  November will be changes from the Lake to Lake 10k to a mud race.  I finally found one that is nearby and not a ridiculous amount of money (in my opinion, anyways).  For December I cut out the second half marathon and am just planning for the one in Orlando the first weekend of the month.  It’s a slightly easier schedule and it allows for a little more free time to play aournd with other workout plans.

I am still planning on adding some random gym time in the summer due to a free membership as a perk of being a School Board employee.  The only priority of this will be the Wednesday Nutrition and Fitness classes.  I do have plans to visit the gym, but this summer will be focused on improving my 5k time and working through a few DVD programs.  As previously mentioned, May is dedicated to 30 Day Shred.  So far, I am definitely feeling it, but actual results remain to be seen.  In June I am upping the stakes with two DVD programs: Six Week Six Pack and Ripped in 30.  I will be working on Level One of Six Week Six Pack for the enire month of June, then moving up to Level Two during July.  Once July hits, I will finish up Ripped in 30 and dedicate more time to my free gym pass and yoga.  August will consist of a lot of Bob Harper as I alternete his Pure Strength workout with his Kettlebell workout to add in some strength that does not involve the gym.  August will also mark the point at which I add in more yoga to my routine, adding Monday and Friday evenings to my yofa class load.  By October I will be in full running mode, planning for the half marathon at the end of the month.  At this point, I am going to evealuate my fitness level.  If I decide I am well enough, both physically and mentally, I am planning to attempt Insanity for the third time.  If I start at the end of October, I will be able to complete the entire program by December 31, 2013… which is a great way to start off the new year.

As always, this is subject to change according to ability and functionality… but I am hoping this plan sticks.

Later Days,

{February 17, 2013}   02.17.2013 – Yeah, I Know

All of my plans to keep the blog up over the brief holiday this weekend.

Along with not keeping up the blog this weekend, I enjoyed chickening out at the Ropes Course, Dining at two buffets and the Hard Rock Cafe, and sleeping.  Yes, this girl fell into a deep, deep food coma after the China Buffet.  Romantic, right?  This is why my boyfriend is perfect.  He let me sleep for almost two hours, and I woke up thinking I hadn’t been passed out for more than a quick power nap.

Today was spent sleeping in (relatively), making Mason Jar meals for my lunches this week, and dominating at the gym.  I am in serious need of a healthy week.  I am in serious need of getting back on track with eating healthy and exercising and avoiding Price-Reduced Valentine’s Day candy.

My new favorite activity might be biking, something that has caught on for me during Cardio Cinema.  I banked 25 Miles today while watching Premium Rush.  I may look into buying a real bike, but that would involve saving money that I don’t necessarily have right this moment.  At any rate, it will put a hold on my running shoes for a month or two.  I might be investing in Cross-Trainers instead.

Weigh-in tomorrow, then it’s time to get serious about following numbers again (just for a bit).  Boo.

Later Days,

-Jenni.
